Title: Fastcap Folding File
Post by: swothe on September 21, 2018, 09:25:52 PM
Hello, sometime in the last couple years, I bought the folding tool kit, after owning several of the folding chisels (and loving them) for years. The kit included the folding file, which I recently packed up to bring along to a job for the first time. When I opened it up, one of the handles came off - the orange connector piece split in two. When I put the pieces back together, it looks like there is quite a bit of pressure on that connector when the handles are folded up. I tried a little epoxy carefully spread on the break, but there's way too much pressure and it came apart when the handles were closed (and epoxy doesn't seem to stick well to the composite material).

Is this a design flaw, or was it maybe just a defective moulded part? I had never used the file before, and I haven't had any trouble with the 10 or 15 other folding tools that I have.
