Ask FastCap / Re: Kaizen Foam issue
« on: September 06, 2018, 11:08:45 AM »
So sorry you are frustrated.  On our website, there are many videos showing how to combat this problem (go to the video tab).  Some use heated items to make the hole smooth (we sell the Kaizen Foam Hot Knife).  Some put the top layer back into the hole to make it smooth. Most folk really don't care. https://www.fastcap.com/product/kaizen-foam

We want you to be happy.  Please contact Sandi (sandi@fastcap.com or 888-443-3748) if you need additional assistance or want a refund.

FastCap Wish List / Re: RCV Universal Remote
« on: September 05, 2018, 10:28:05 AM »
Because of how the RCV system uses a unique frequency from the remote to the body, which fixed the issue of it picking up stray signals, you cannot pair multiple remotes to the same body unit. They would need to have separate RCVS. We are not selling extra remotes at this time as they would not be functional. At one point in the development process, we were hoping that multiple remotes could be paired to the same body unit but it ended up not being feasible.

You must go to the source upstream and find out why these mistakes are being made...solve the problem there. Paul

Ask FastCap / Re: UK Distributor
« on: August 15, 2018, 02:27:21 PM »
Unfortunately, our UK distributors donít stock the Power Head Screws.  But, we have a few great distributors over there that place regular orders (Isaac Lord, Rutlands) so if you reach out to one of them, you should be able to get the screws ordered and shipped with their next stocking order.

For the specific high-quality tape we make, we would have to custom order it which means a large quantity.

Ask FastCap / Re: Canadian distribution
« on: May 18, 2018, 03:29:52 PM »
The Canadian govít imposed an Anti-Dumping law that restricts the importing of goods made in China. Iím not sure if this applies to American made goods. I donít know all of the details except that even our Canadian dealers have stopped ordering certain products because the duties on these products are so high. The best way for an online customer to purchase our products in Canada is for them to send it via USPS to avoid large duty charges which shipping UPS would lead to. The other option is for them to order from Richelieu or Lee Valley or a company called Marathon. I know some of these companies donít sell our full line of products and that Richelieu will only sell to people if they are business owners and have an account with them. So this creates an availability problem for our customer. Iím not sure of a way around this for people who need to purchase a specific product directly from us that we cant ship in the mail. Sorry.

2p-10 can be used to bond wood and plastic with no problem. Care needs to be used with the Activator though. The Activator can cause certain plastics to discolor. 2p-10 does not need the Activator to work and in most cases where plastic is being glued, we recommend skipping the Activator.

Ask FastCap / Re: Nylon fastcaps
« on: April 23, 2018, 10:48:06 AM »
We cannot produce Fastcaps in any other plastic materials.

If you are able to send us edge banding in a different material that is 5Ē or less wide and less than 3/4mm thick we can process the edging on our machines and turn it into caps.

Or you can purchase our Custom Color Punch Kit that has a 3/8Ē die. The tool will punch through material up to 1mm thick, and the tool kit includes our double sided speed tape to turn your material into Fastcaps.

FastCap Product Problems / Re: FastEdge tear out
« on: March 12, 2018, 12:51:56 PM »
I'm sorry this is happening, but I'm guessing youíre doing something wrong. This should not happen. First thing is you need to roll the material on more so it will not move.

Regarding the tear out, itís strictly a grain direction issue. You have to get that right and you have to trim firmly and slowly and it should work perfectly. Iíve never had it not work if itís done correctly.

Thanks for the feedback! Ė We have eliminated the tape on the 11th finger, and most of our other products currently, but if we ever end up taping again we will definitely provide tabs!
